New Beginnings Lutheran Church is a place where people of all ages can find a welcoming and caring community. We offer a variety of engaging, fulfilling, entertaining, educational, and fun programs for everyone. Whether you are looking for meaningful worship services, opportunities to connect with others, or ways to grow in your faith, we have something for you. For our youngest members, we offer Sunday School classes and Vacation Bible School and Summer Camp programs that teach children about God's love in a safe and nurturing environment. Adults can participate in Bible studies, small groups, and fellowship events that encourage and challenge them in their faith journey. At New Beginnings Lutheran Church, there is always something new to discover and experience.
Summer Volunteer Opportunities
Summer at New Beginnings offers lots of time and opportunities to volunteer at the church and in our community! We will have booths at Sodafest, June 8th, and the Mahomet Music Festival, August 23-24th, in downtown Mahomet. Our Helping Hands Distribution day is July 9th and Vacation Bible School is July 22nd-July 25th. We also always have wonderful opportunities to get involved in our church services by helping with communion, being a scripture or being a part of our Welcome Team! Consider joining us at church and how you could serve.
Acts 2:28 says, You always show me the path that leads to life. You will fill me with joy when I am with you. This year's Vacation Bible School shows that Jesus is always our reason to celebrate! B.O.B (Better Off Believing)
B.O.B. (BETTER OFF BELIEVING) is a program offered at NBLC to engage children in learning about God's love and sharing a time of fellowship with each other. The program is for pre-K through 5th grade and goes thru the school year (Sept-April). Join us through the summer for our B.O.B. Summer Camp which will extend to 2 programs - 3 year olds through 5th grade and junior high school. We will meet Tuesdays, June 4th & 11th & July 9th, 10am-2pm. Sunday School
Join us on Sundays after service at 11:15 am for Sunday School at New Beginnings. Elementary aged kids will continue with the Holy Moly curriculum as the children learn about God's plan to redeem his people. Holy Moly class will meet in the downstairs Sunday school area. We also host a Sunday school class for Grade 6-12. We will meet and learn some less common stories of the bible, talk faith and how to be a witness in this world. This class will meet in the youth room area.
Bible Study
Join us on Wednesdays at 12:30 pm. It is always a great time to join our group! We look forward to seeing you there! Following Wednesday bible study there will be a communion service at 1:15pm.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a ministry for students in 6th grade and up who will learn the essentials of Christian Faith but also start to explore those big questions like How do I know God is real? What about Science and Faith? And many others.
Prayer List
One of the activities all believers in Christ are called to and one ministry we all can participate in is praying for our church, the community, the world and all those in need. We’d love to have you join us in this vital ministry.
Wrapped in Prayer
Wrapped in Prayer is a ministry of quilts and blankets. Women meet on Wednesday mornings throughout the year to work on quilts and blankets to wrap those who are in need of comfort whether it be a hospital, after a disaster or even experiencing hardships overseas. No skills are needed as there are always non-sewing tasks available.
The ladies also have a potluck after at 11:30am so they can continue to fellowship.
Social Outreach
There are various social outreach opportunities at New Beginnings. We participate in community activities such as Candlewood Lunches and various Mahomet community festivals and events. We also annually have a Walk for Water to benefit Water Mission International to help provide clean water to others throughout the world.
