Announcements for the week of March 8, 2020

LENT IS HERE. Wednesday Lenten services will continue throughout March and April 1 at 7:00 p.m. The pastors are again planning a Lenten round robin, as we have done for the last several years. The theme this year will be Seed-Grains of Prayer; exploring some very short, but powerful, prayers in the Bible. Maundy Thursday will be April 9, Good Friday April 10, Easter Sunday April 12. The Wednesday Lenten offerings will be divided between the North American Lutheran Seminary and the Champaign County Christian Health Center. Join us from 6:15 pm – 6:45 pm for a simple soup meal prior to the service. If you are interested in helping provide a meal, there is one day left in need of a volunteer (March 25th).

COLLECTING BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION Jim and I (Cheryl Heinold) are supporter of the St. Joseph’s Indian school in Chamberland, South Dakota. Recently I received a letter from them about collecting Box Tops for Education for the school there. I thought this would be a good project for the B.O.B. kids and our congregation and a simple one. Please cut the Box Tops symbol off General Mills products (there is a BIG variety of products not just cereal so check all your boxes at home) and put them in the jars at the church. When we get a goodly amount we will send them to St. Joseph’s. Thanks for your support of this project.

WE EXTEND OUR SYMPATHY to Lisa Slade as she, and her family and friends grieve the loss of her husband Jeff. May all who grieve receive comfort and strength from the Lord as we hope in the resurrection to eternal life in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. The visitation for Jeff will be Friday, March 6th, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. here at New Beginnings, the memorial service will be Saturday, March 7th, at 10:00 a.m. here at New Beginnings. If you can help with the lunch following the service on Saturday, please contact Ruth Morin.

WE EXTEND OUR SYMPATHY to Laura Campbell as she and her family grieve the loss of her father, Ernie Gyure. May all who grieve be comforted by the assurance of eternal life in Jesus.

HELP NEEDED Wayne and Jackie Wolf are in need of help with transportation. If you can help, please contact Pastor Oman.
