UPCOMING ACTIVITIES WITH SOCIAL OUTREACH COMMITTEE –
BOB SUMMER CAMP is the 2nd and 4th Tue in June and July and runs from 10a to 1p. Kindergarten thru 5th grade and $5 per session includes outings, activities and lunch.

HELPING HANDS Our congregation is scheduled to help at Helping Hands on Saturday, July 14, for gathering goods for Helping Hands, and Saturday, July 21, for distribution. The times are 8:45am-11:30am. Set either or both Saturdays aside to help those in our community who are in need. We need 6 volunteers for the collection day and 8 volunteers for the distribution. There is a sign-up sheet on the table in the narthex.

CANDLEWOOD LUNCHES Our congregation will be serving lunches at Candlewood Monday July 30 – Friday August 3. We will need many people to help. Plan to come and help, block time in your schedules to help. Marilyn Feigl is in charge of our week again this year. Watch for further information and sign-up sheets for volunteers and donations.

MAHOMET MUSIC FESTIVAL The Mahomet Music Festival will be on Aug 25 this summer. We are planning to have a booth with the focus on the Walk for Water again this year. Last year there was a lot of interest shown by people at the festival. This gives us a good opportunity to share the importance of clean water throughout the world. Watch for further information about this outreach opportunity.

WALK FOR WATER – This year’s Walk for Water is October 6. We are considering a new location for the walk and hope to have more activities and participants. We need your help since this is a big undertaking. We would like information about how or who to contact in different organizations in our community as well as local churches. We also need volunteers to contact these groups and help with advertising our event. Watch for more details and sign-up sheets. Contact Cheryl Heinold if you are interested in helping with this important project sponsored by NALC Great Rivers district.

SUMMER COOK OUT AND MOVIE The SOC is planning a cook out and movie for August 12 after church. We will offer grilled meats, salads, desserts and drinks followed by a movie in the Life Tree room. Watch for more details and a sign up sheet.

ATTENDANCE for Sunday, July 1st was 79 and the offering was $3,423.00.
