ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the congregation will be Sunday, November 12, 2017, following the worship service. Please plan to attend!

WALK FOR WATER UPDATE Thank you to all who walked, volunteered to help, and contributed to the Walk for Water to support Water Mission. There were about 50 walkers who raised about $4,000. All who participated and contributed will be a blessing to those who need clean water, and who need to hear about Jesus, the Water of Life. The Lord’s blessings be on all!

NBLC OCTOBERFEST will be held on October 29 from 4pm to 6pm. The menu this year is a German Cuisine, dessert and everyone’s favorite Root Beer Floats. We will be having a guest speaker Patrick Cox presenting “Wrinkles Are Free and Do Not Hurt , But They Cost A Lot”. Pat is a retired minister and has had many experiences in his personal life to share with us. Tickets are $5 per person and will be on sale starting this Sunday after worship service or available in the church office.

VETERANS DAY ASSEMBLY The students and staff at Lincoln Trail Elementary School will host their annual Veterans Day Assembly on November 10, 2017. We would like to show our appreciation to the veterans and active duty personnel who have made, and are making sacrifices for our country. The assembly will include music performed by the students as well as recognition of veterans and active duty personnel in attendance. Join us at 9:15 in our cafeteria to enjoy coffee and cookies with fellow veterans. The ceremony will begin at 10:15 in the Lincoln Trail Gymnasium. Please join us for this special tribute to our veterans!

LIVING FLAG PRESENTATION The Mahomet Christian Church is holding their 13th annual LIVING FLAG presentation. The theme this year is: “In God We Trust”. The special guest speaker will be Lt. Col. David Schmitt, USAF. The dates are: November 3, 7:00 p.m.; November 4, 2:00 & 7:00 p.m.; November 5, 7:00 p.m. See the flier on the bulletin board for more information.

INSTALLATION SERVICE OF RANTOUL PASTOR You are cordially invited to the Installation Service of Pastor Matt Bahnfleth as Senior Pastor of American Lutheran Church-Rantoul on Sunday, October 15th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Main Sanctuary. Reception immediately following in the ALC Youth Hall.

This is a time to approach our Lord as individuals and church family to lift up the needs of the many and of the few. Are you being called to consider this opportunity? WHAT HAPPENED? The first Thursday of the month came and went withOUT Bunco?? Given the attendance (or lack of) at the past few offerings, BUNCO is feeling a bit sad. So at this time, BUNCO will take a hiatus pending future interest. Thank you to all those that have enjoyed the babies, prizes and laughs during BUNCO.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION: “MARTIN LUTHER AND THE REFORMATION”
2017 marks the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. Professor Joe Thomas of the Urbana Theological Seminary will be doing a presentation on Luther and the Reformation at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 15th at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (802 East Douglas Street, St. Joseph). The Reformation affected practically every aspect of life in the western world, and continues to influence American beliefs and attitudes in a powerful way. We’re sure you’ll find Professor Thomas’ historical presentation timely and engaging. Refreshments will be served. We hope you can come and join us!

ITEMS NEEDED We have some crafts projects coming up for the B.O.B. kids and are looking for some items. We need old magazines to cut letters and pictures out of for mod-podge. And does anyone have any open topped Metal Christmas cookie cutters that we can borrow for a few weeks to make gifts with? They will be returned to you so please put them in a bag with your name on it. If you have any of these items please put them in the Youth Room downstairs.

HURRICANE RELIEF All of you have heard of the devastation caused by the hurricanes in recent weeks. There are many sources of help for those who have experienced loss because of the hurricanes. The NALC is one source of relief for those who have lost so much. A list of needs is in the narthex, and a tub to receive items in under the coat rack. Please consider how to help during these crises.

ATTENDANCE for Sunday, Oct. 8 was 60 and total offering was $5,615.
