Prayers of the People- Week of July 9

On this after 5th Sunday after Pentecost, you are invited to join together as one body lifting up prayer for all of God’s creations, the faithful and faithless. Let us center our minds and lift open our hearts beginning in silence.

We join the psalmist in giving You thanks and praise for Your steadfast love and blessings. Enable us to be at peace in You, and fill us with Your love to share the message of You with others so that they can join in the on-going hymn of praise to You. We pray that your Spirit would renew the hearts, minds, worship, and life of this congregation. Make us loving, joyful and kind; faithful and forgiving; generous and patient; humble and valiant. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We live in a world of chaos but are offered the peace that only You can offer. We pray that you would also guide all leaders throughout the world to accept the reign of peace that only You can provide. May they lead with compassion and warm hearts for those they govern. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the protection of all our law enforcement, first responders, military personnel, and all who seek to protect others. They have difficult responsibilities, often in the face of danger. May they serve with bravery and integrity knowing their Heavenly Father watches over them each day and will bring them into His arms when death comes. As such, we lift up Ryan Albin, local state patrolmen, that died recently and now rests in Your arms. May His family and friends be comforted. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We thank you for this beautiful world, over which you have set us as stewards. Give us a double measure of your Holy Spirit, so that we may be wise, responsible, and compassionate as we tend the land and its creatures. We give thanks for the rain which we received this week and continue to pray for more rain so that we can share in an abundant harvest. Teach us all to be kind to each other; to be wise stewards of creation and gentle caretakers of its creatures. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We seek to see one another with the eyes of Jesus. Some of our fellow members are carrying heavy burdens, known only to them and to you. Ease their load; and give each of us gentle hearts and words that we, too, refresh their spirits. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer

We thank You, dear Father, for the lives and labor of your faithful departed servants. May the grief of the living be soothed with the knowledge they are safely in Your care. We pray You will lead us into the same eternal rest when it is our time and may experience the promised eternal life redeemed through Your Son. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer

Thank you for the hope and renewal that you offer to this world and to our hearts and lives. Receive our prayers and grant all that is in accordance with Your will. Thank you for always being there to talk to and may we never cease to listen and follow your direction in every .circumstance this week. Amen
