CARE PACKAGE FOR DREW McCOWEN IN AFGHANISTAN Carol Tempel’s brother Drew is deployed for his 5th tour. SOC decided to make a “care” package for him. We will be collecting things to send him and his unit. Some ideas to send include: Mike & Ike Candy, Good & Plenty, Gummy Lifesavers, coffee (K-cups or instant), individual powdered drink packets for water bottles, gum, chapstick, baby wipes or disposable/flushable wipes (small packages), small books such as puzzle books. No chocolate items. Homemade cookies are always appreciated by the troops. Please place items on the table in the narthex. Last day will be March 26 so we can mail the package by the end of March.

MURDER MYSTERY EXPLORED AT LIFETREE CAFÉ An unsolved murder mystery will be examined at Lifetree Café on Thursday, March 23 at 12:30 p.m. at the Candlewood Poolhouse. The program, titled “An Unsolved Mystery: Living With Life’s Unanswered Questions,” features a filmed interview with Gary McMahan, an eye witness to an actual unsolved killing that occurred on the plains of northeastern Colorado. “You spend your life out there, and you can explain almost everything that goes on,” says McMahan. “I have no idea what happened.” During the program, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their theories about who or what committed the unsolved crime.
