LENTEN SERIES CONTINUES The Lenten series on the Penitential Psalms continues this week. Supper is at 5:45 with a pot-luck, so bring a dish to share. The proceeds are for the mission trip this summer. Worship is at 7:00 p.m., Pr. Jay Johnson from St. John in Royal will lead worship, emphasizing Psalm 51.
PSALM/PASSION SUNDAY Palm/Passion Sunday will soon be here. We would like to have a group of people read the Gospel for that Sunday. We need about 12 readers. Please sign up on the sheet in the narthex; and remember, it doesn’t matter which part you sign up for, we aren’t typecasting! Thanks.
LENTEN OFFERINGS The Lenten offerings Wednesday evenings will be designated for the North American Lutheran Seminary of the NALC, and empty tomb of Champaign/Urbana. Thank you for your generosity to these two organizations.

NBLC MOVIE AND LUNCH DATE SOC next movie and lunch date will be on April 30. The SOC will be preparing a pasta bar for your enjoyment during fellowship time. We will be showing the movie “RISEN” which is the story of the Resurrection through the eyes of a non-believer. Movie time will be planned for 11:45. Remember you can bring a friend. CARE PACKAGE FOR DREW McCOWEN IN AFGHANISTAN Carol Tempel’s brother Drew is deployed for his 5th tour. SOC decided to make a “care” package for him. We will be collecting things to send him and his unit. Some ideas to send include: Mike & Ike Candy, Good & Plenty, Gummy Lifesavers, coffee (K-cups or instant), individual powdered drink packets for water bottles, gum, chapstick, baby wipes or disposable/flushable wipes (small packages), small books such as puzzle books. No chocolate items. Homemade cookies are always appreciated by the troops. Please place items on the table in the narthex. Last day will be March 26 so we can mail the package by the end of March.
MURDER MYSTERY EXPLORED AT LIFETREE CAFÉ An unsolved murder mystery will be examined at Lifetree Café on Thursday, March 23 at 12:30 p.m. at the Candlewood Poolhouse. The program, titled “An Unsolved Mystery: Living With Life’s Unanswered Questions,” features a filmed interview with Gary McMahan, an eye witness to an actual unsolved killing that occurred on the plains of northeastern Colorado. “You spend your life out there, and you can explain almost everything that goes on,” says McMahan. “I have no idea what happened.” During the program, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their theories about who or what committed the unsolved crime.
