PRESIDENT’S FAITH EXPLORED AT LIFETREE CAFÉ The importance of the U.S. president’s religious faith will be explored at Lifetree Café on Wednesday at 7:00pm in the café and Thursday at 12:30pm in the Pool House at Candlewood. The program—titled “The President’s Faith: Does It Matter?”—features filmed interviews with Michael Gerson, columnist for The Washington Post and chief speechwriter for George W. Bush, and Jim Wallis, president of Sojourners and spiritual adviser to Barack Obama. “Religion in America has always had a part to play in politics,” Wallis says. “The founders wanted to separate church and state, but they also wanted to make it easier for religion to have a positive impact on society.” During the program, participants will examine how their own faith influences their political views.
