IMPACT OF INTIMACY ANOREXIA ON MARRIAGES EXAMINED AT LIFETREE CAFÉ A glimpse into marriages suffering from Intimacy Anorexia will be shown at Lifetree Café on Tuesday at 6:00pm in the café and Thursday at 1:30pm in the Pool House at Candlewood. The program, titled “Intimacy Anorexia: The Dark Secret That’s Killing Marriages,” features a filmed interview with Dr. Douglas Weiss, a licensed psychologist and an expert in the field of Intimacy Anorexia. Weiss explains Intimacy Anorexia is the intentional withholding of emotional, spiritual, and sexual intimacy from one’s spouse and is a condition that affects both men and women. “A common symptom is being married to someone, but feeling like you have a roommate more than a spouse,” he says. “If you feel married and alone, you’re probably married to someone with intimacy anorexia.” Lifetree participants will learn the common symptoms of Intimacy Anorexia as well as practical treatment options.

BUNCO No foolin, April BUNCO is just around the corner. Come one and all, Thursday, April 7th @ 6:30 pm.  Snacks & prizes provided!

CROCK POT MEALS – SOC committee has prepared 2 frozen crock pot meals- Creamy Italian Chicken and Taco Soup. The bagged meals are for anyone in the congregation to pick up and use for themselves or for a friend. If you have a family member or a friend that is sick, having surgery, are new parents, have had a loss or are just having a rough or busy week and you think they would appreciate a home cooked meal, that’s what the meals are for. We made 5 of each meal and put them in the big refrigerator freezer in the kitchen, directions are on the bags. Please feel free to take one, even if you just want to try it. When the supply gets low we plan to make more.

CARE PACKAGE TO AFGHANISTAN – SOC committee wants to support Keegan Wisehart and his company currently deployed in Afghanistan by sending a care package.  Please bring hard candy (no chocolate), gum, nuts, chapstick, hand lotion, sunscreen, small packages of Kleenex, crossword or word hunt books, small notebooks, and short novels or inspirational books.  We will mail this when we have a good collection gathered.  Most of these things can be picked up at the dollar store.

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE EASTER CANDY AND HELP! 50 kids from preschool through 8th grade had a great time at Candlewood hunting eggs and holding baby chicks! Plenty of candy was donated for our flashlight egg hunt and Easter morning’s hunt. We stuffed over 2,000 eggs.
