The Easter breakfast will be a fundraiser for the mission trip, hosted by those who will be going on the mission trip. Thank you in advance for your support for the mission trip.
CONSPIRACIES CONSIDERED AT LIFETREE CAFÉ: Commonly reported cover-ups, schemes, and secrets will be explored at Lifetree Café on Tuesday at 6:00 pm in the café and Thursday at 1:30 pm in the Pool House at Candlewood. The program, titled “Conspiracies: What ‘They’ Don’t Want You to Know,” features a filmed interview with Ross Hemsworth, a well-known radio personality and speaker at conferences addressing conspiracies and conspiracy theories. “I think those people with exploring minds are the ones interested in conspiracy theories,” Hemsworth says during the episode. “For me, when I meet people who are into this particular subject area, they are exploring everything. They are inquiring minds, and they just want to know the truth that’s out there.” During the episode, Lifetree participants will be given an opportunity to share their opinions of commonly reported conspiracy theories including the JFK assassination, UFO landings, and genetically engineered viruses.

CROCK POT MEALS – SOC committee has prepared 2 frozen crock pot meals- Creamy Italian Chicken and Taco Soup. The bagged meals are for anyone in the congregation to pick up and use for themselves or for a friend. If you have a family member or a friend that is sick, having surgery, are new parents, have had a loss or are just having a rough or busy week and you think they would appreciate a home cooked meal, that’s what the meals are for. We made 5 of each meal and put them in the big refrigerator freezer in the kitchen, directions are on the bags. Please feel free to take one, even if you just want to try it. When the supply gets low we plan to make more.
CARE PACKAGE TO AFGHANISTAN – SOC committee wants to support Keegan Wisehart and his company currently deployed in Afghanistan by sending a care package. Please bring hard candy (no chocolate), gum, nuts, chapstick, hand lotion, sunscreen, small packages of Kleenex, crossword or word hunt books, small notebooks, and short novels or inspirational books. We will mail this when we have a good collection gathered. Most of these things can be picked up at the dollar store.
THE MID-WEEK LENTEN OFFERINGS THIS YEAR WILL BE DESIGNATED FOR ST. ELIAS CHRISTIAN CHURCH IN CHICAGO, a North American Lutheran Church congregation, which ministers to people from the Middle East who speak Arabic. Because there are very few printed materials for worship in Arabic, the congregation needs a computer and projector so that the worship service, including music, can be projected. The cost is about $1,200. This is a great way we can help the people at St. Elias to worship the Lord!
