Prayer of the People — January 24, 2016

dove_9665cLet us pray for the whole people of God in Jesus Christ and for all people according to their needs.

Almighty and Eternal God, your glory fills all creation. Open us to a greater awareness of your glory each day. May we never forget that every day is a new beginning. Let us not fail to ask for your presence in all that we do, and say. Direct our thoughts so that our lives reflect our connection to you. Please shine through our lives, as we remember that that every day is a gift in which you are our joy and strength. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Loving Father, the people of Israel were renewed in their faith and worship after captivity: Guide us to be more faithful in our worship and more dedicated in our service to you each day. We thank you for our freedom to worship and may we never take this freedom for granted. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Guide us, O Lord, to remember that in Baptism we all become one body with each other in your Son Jesus Christ. Help us to understand that the different gifts you give us help us work together to serve you through your church. We thank for this place of worship. Maybe we all be good stewards in giving of our time and talents.  Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Oh Lord, we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit. May there be renewal of your healing presence. We pray today for those whose concerns are known to all we name before you and those that we name in our hearts.

May those who care each of these we name, be guided by the knowledge that you are a faithful God, fulfilling your promise to remember your children always.

Guided by your Holy Spirit, we place into your care, Merciful Father, all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy, for the sake of your son, Jesus Christ our lord. Amen
