Why People Leave Church Explored at Lifetree Café

Insights and trends about the current state of the church will be discussed at Lifetree Café.

The program, titled “Leaving God? Insights From Those Who’ve Walked Away From Church,” includes interviews with John Bucher, an author, filmmaker, and screenwriter who was hurt by the church, and Dr. Josh Packard, a professor and researcher at the University of Northern Colorado.

“The reasons people are leaving are not the same, but half of the people we talk to can’t conceive of a church they’d come back to, and a third say they’ll actively discourage their children from going, too,” said Packard.

Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss their own personal experiences with organized religion.

Admission to the 60-minute Lifetree event is free.

When:  6:30 pm on September 30
