CaptureWELCOME TO NEW BEGINNINGS LUTHERAN CHURCH: We are glad you are worshiping with us today!

PLEASE STAY FOR FELLOWSHIP: After worship you are invited to join us downstairs for refreshments and fellowship. An elevator is located at the end of the hall.

COMMUNION: All are welcome to receive the Lord’s Body and Blood who are baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and believe that Jesus Christ, crucified and risen, is truly present in, with and under the forms of bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins, life & salvation.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HELPED WITH LORRAINE EADS-SCHANTZ’ FUNERAL. Please continue to keep Ed and Lorraine’s children, and Ed’s daughter, in your prayers as they go through the days and weeks ahead.

WHY IS GRACE SO AMAZING? Join us Sunday mornings at 11:30 in the Café for an hour of discussion and discernment of grace. This Sunday’s topic is “Can I be good enough to please God?” For more information, contact Bobbie Schnitkey, 898-0358.

THE WEDNESDAY 12:30 BIBLE STUDY has decided to study the book of 1 Corinthians. All are invited to join the study. We always review, so come join us.

WHY PEOPLE LEAVE CHURCH EXPLORED AT LIFETREE CAFÉ WEDNESDAY AT 6:30 PM AND THURSDAY AT 11:30 PM. The program, titled “Leaving God? Insights From Those Who’ve Walked Away From Church,” includes interviews with John Bucher, an author, filmmaker, and screenwriter who was hurt by the church, and Dr. Josh Packard, a professor and researcher at the University of Northern Colorado. “The reasons people are leaving are not the same, but half of the people we talk to can’t conceive of a church they’d come back to, and a third say they’ll actively discourage their children from going, too,” said Packard. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss their own personal experiences with organized religion.

UPDATE ON OUR WALK TO BETHLEHEM: Our Greek lunch will be postponed until October 4 immediately after the church service. We are arriving in Greece so take time to look at the pictures from Athens and other areas of Greece. Our next destination is Turkey.

SENIOR CARE HEALTH FAIR AND RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE: Volunteers will be needed to help with registration at both the Health fair and blood drive on Saturday, Oct 17 from 10am to 2pm. The attendance was disappointing last year so we hope that more of our church family will take time to come by and learn what is available in our area to help families that have the care of their older family members or for your own future information.

We will be contacting friends and family to sign up to give blood during the same time as the health fair. Help making these calls would be appreciated.

Mark this day on your calendar since it is a good opportunity to learn more about our community and to support the Red Cross and our congregation.

FLU SHOT CLINIC: Flu shots will again be available during the health fair this year. Walgreens will be at the church from 11am til 1pm to give flu shots.

  • October 31, Saturday, TBA, TRUNK OR TREAT
