Prayers of the People — September 13, 2015

prayerLet us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.

Give us ears to hear the message of the cross, and grant us your Holy Spirit that we each may bear the cross faithfully. Help us as we follow Jesus. May there be a renewal and awakening of your church around the world, and especially here in North America. Help Christians to stand up for truth and to do it in a way that encourages others to come to you. Send your Word forth in the power of the Holy Spirit to bring many to faith and discipleship. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

In these times when many things that have been considered bad, are now looked on as good and those things that are good are now considered unfair and unsuitable in these changing times. Help us Lord.

Guide all pastors, teachers, and all who serve in leadership roles in our community, our state, country and throughout the whole world. May all call on You for direction and wisdom and by doing so, may there be peace throughout the world, with freedom and justice for all people. We pray especially for the persecuted church. We pray for all who are being belittled for standing for their faith. Turn the hearts of all who hate and oppose the Gospel, and open them to your saving Word. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Protect and keep all schools, that all students, teachers, and administrators may know your truth and grow daily in wisdom and understanding. Keep our schools safe from violence and evil. Be with all children and especially those with special needs and for those that are suffering in any way. Help the parents to provide a safe home where the children feel cherished and loved. May there be an end to abuse of all kinds. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for and all who need your healing in any way. We thank you for hearing our prayers and standing by us at all times. Comfort all caregivers especially those that are caring for the sick and dying. Let the light of your cross and the promise of resurrection strengthen those to whom death draws near and those who mourn the loss of loved ones. May we always remember that through our faith in You, we will be brought together again to enjoy eternal fellowship with you and all your saints. Our lives here are short and Your promises hold true through all generations. Thank you for this wonderful assurance. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Into your hands, Father, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Risen Lord. Amen
