For the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, that it might be a sign of the kingdom of heaven here on earth and a means of preserving and proclaiming God’s saving Gospel to all the world. May there be a spiritual renewal in the churches esp. when there are so many distractions and activities that take families away from church. May parents give their children direction in living a Christian life not only on Sundays, but every day and in all their activities. Help us all to be good role models for youth and each other.
For those who govern our communities, for those who protect us from danger, and for those who serve our nation around the world in pursuit of peace, that they might know that our Heavenly Father watches over them each day. May there be respect for those who serve and an accountability of honor and trust for those who are in harm’s way.
For those we know and those unknown to us who are experiencing illness of body, mind or spirit, that they might know that nothing separates us from the love of God revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We pray for all who are persecuted for Your name sake. Give them protection, comfort and peace.
For those who mourn, remembering that although life goes on for them, they know with your help, things will be alright, but never the same. With the loss they feel, may they be comforted with the peace that comes through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. May they live with the sure and certain hope that all who die in the Lord will rejoice with the Lord in God’s heavenly kingdom.
Into your hands, merciful Father, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy, for the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
