Prayers of the People — May 24, 2015

kneel_8737c (2)Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus our Lord and for all people according to their needs.

In this the season of Pentecost, we pray for the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, for a renewed by the Holy Spirit and the church will boldly proclaim the Word of Life. In these days when many are being persecuted for their Christian faith, may all Christians stand firm in your truth. May those that are so misguided in their beliefs and actions, come to know you as the only true God. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

May we here at New Beginnings be nourished by worship, searching the scriptures, and through Holy Communion and fellowship so that we may grow stronger in our baptismal faith and more faithful in our service to others. Bless the programs and opportunities that are made available to us here at NBs, not only on Sunday Mornings, but also through the week.  Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lest we ever forget or take for granite our freedoms in this country, may we remember and honor those who have served in our nation’s Armed Forces and given their lives and sacrifices to keep us free. This Memorial Day we remember and ask your blessings and protection on all who serve. May we work diligently with others in the cause of peace. May all world leaders strive to make this world a better place. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

For all those experiencing illness of body, mind, spirit, distress, or unwelcomed changes, may they know the peace that passes all human understanding and believe more firmly that their heavenly Father watches over them each day. Bless all care givers with courage, strength, and all that is needed.

For those who mourn, and for all those we remember in our hearts that now rest with you, may we experience the hope that comes from the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that all who die in the Lord will rejoice with the Lord in the everlasting kingdom. – And most merciful Father, as we are guided by your Holy Spirit, we are confident that you know our needs, that you hear our prayers and so we place all for whom we pray into your loving care for the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
