LIFETREE CAFÉ WEDNESDAY NIGHT: How scientific findings can help create and sustain more satisfying relationships will be discussed at Lifetree Café. The program, titled “What Makes Relationships Tick?” includes a filmed interview with Ty Tashiro, the author of “The Science of Happily Ever After: What Really Matters in the Quest for Enduring Love.”
“Butterflies in the stomach come with stress hormones like cortisol, that are toxic if released over a period of time, and a pounding heart is really high blood pressure,” says Tashiro, who says the extreme emotional high of love can actually be fatal if experienced for too long. “It lasts about two years,” says Tashiro, “but it can come back throughout a relationship.”
Participants in any relationship status will find hope and help for having great relationships.

THE NEXT NORTH AMERICAN LUTHERAN CHURCH CONVOCATION will be held this August in Dallas, TX. The dates are: Wednesday August 12 through Friday, August 14th. The theme is a very timely theme: Martyr, Life-giving Witness; and is based on Acts 26:16-18. Many of our brothers and sisters in the faith are facing martyrdom for the Name of Jesus; this will be a time to hear their witness, to keep them in prayer, and to be strengthened in faith as the world becomes increasingly hostile to the message of Jesus. This is also the business meeting of the NALC. We need a voting delegate to attend. If you would like to attend, or would like more information, please contact Pastor Oman.

WALK TO BETHLEHEM: It is 6,296 miles from Mahomet to Bethlehem. Can we walk there before Advent Season? Watch for more information on how our congregation will do it!

We will be looking for helpers as team leaders and assistants, for music, crafts, snacks, lunch and registration. Take time to consider helping with this community outreach program and the joy there is found in working with the children.
