UntitledLIFETREE CAFÉ TONIGHT: Tonight’s program, titled “”Coming Together: Finding Common Ground When It Seems Impossible,” features a screening of the lighthearted, award-winning South African short film “Kanyekanye.”

The film follows the romance of a young man and woman who live in an imaginary town divided by a disagreement about what color apple is best. When Thomas, from the green-apple side of town, falls in love with Thandi, whose family favors red apples, tensions rise. Participants will consider what issues divide their own families and community and explore practical ways to overcome those divisions.

THE SUNDAY MORNING CLASS IS STUDYING THE GOSPEL OF JOHN. LOW FIRE FAMILIES AID: Area churches and businesses, along with the Red Cross have come together to provide assistance to families affected by the fire at LOW apartments. It was recommended that gift cards for restaurants, clothing stores, gas and grocery stores would provide the best help for families’ needed items. Our congregation is invited to purchase gift cards or make monetary donations to buy gift cards to aid these families. There will be a box in the narthex to place your gift card donations in, or monetary donations can be placed in the offering plates and designated for LOW fire victim aid. If you have clothing or toys donations please take them to Helping Hands, Bulldog consignment, It Takes a Village, Salvation Army or Salt & Light where the families have been referred by the Red Cross for these items. The ages range from infant to elderly and 32 individuals have been displaced. There will be a long term need for home furnishing or kitchen items when the families are resettled but not currently. We will keep you informed of the changing needs. For more information contact the Social Outreach Comm – Cheryl Heinold – 586-4794, Marilyn Feigel – 586-5078, Richey Vanderspool – 649-9893.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE: We are having a Red Cross Blood Drive at our church on Monday, April 13. The Social Outreach Committee is looking for volunteers to help prior to and the day of the blood drive. We are making a commitment to help seriously ill or injured people.
