Prayers of the People — July 13, 2014

dove_9665cLet us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.

Heavenly Father, You are to be praised because your blessings are new every morning and last through the close of the day. By Your Spirit, gather many people into Your Holy Family, that they may receive forgiveness, life and salvation. Fill them and us with the gifts of the Spirit and knit us all together in love, that we may glorify Your holy Name forever. For all that are in danger because of their faith and witness, we pray that You will strengthen, protect, and comfort them. May we here in America, stand tall for the Christian faith, the church, and forever, proclaim the truth of your word. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

The seed of Your Word is sown along the path in many places. Let that Word instead find good soil in the heart of leaders of every nation, so that they will do justice, love mercy, and care for the needs of their people. We especially lift before You the poor, the unemployed, the homeless, the dispossessed, and all those whose dreams have been trampled by the economy or by the greed of others. Please Lord Help those children and their parents, who live in countries that are so over run by greed and violence that they risk their lives and the safety of their children in hopes of a better life and freedom. With You oh God, nothing is impossible. Please let our leaders and all involved find a workable solution to this vast problem.  Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

The seed of your Word often falls on rocky ground. Bless and strengthen those who work in stressful settings or serve in harm’s way. Be with all who volunteer in difficult situations. Give hope to those in recovery and those still struggling with addictions of any kind. Bless families as they seek to grow together in faith, particularly those families that struggle with brokenness. May we here at NBs and un all churches be a welcoming place for all. Give all churches and ministries charity in times of conflict, wisdom in periods of controversy, and faithfulness to the Gospel in season and out of season. May your children find patience, pardon, comfort and confidence in Your great love for them. We thank your for those that are caregivers and we ask your blessings on them.  Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lord there are many needs in our lives and many suffer from loss and burdens. Graciously lift these burdens we bring before you and hear the prayers we offer for the needs of others-those we lift aloud and those we lift in our hearts. We remember also, those that are vacationing and away from home. Grant health and safety and bring them home refreshed from their time away.  Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We thank you for the lives of the faithful who have gone before us. In Your mercy comfort those who mourn. Gather into close fellowship with Your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, all of us who walk as yet by faith and not by sight: until with all the redeemed we know the inexpressible joy of seeing Him face to face in your Kingdom which has no end. And
Into your hands, merciful Father, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in Your mercy; for the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
