WELCOME TO NEW BEGINNINGS LUTHERAN CHURCH: We are glad you are worshiping with us today. Restrooms are located on the left side of the hallway and a nursery for children under 5 is located on the right side of the hall.

COMMUNION: The center section of each Communion tray has two types of glasses. There are glasses with white grape juice, and also glasses with a lesser amount of wine. Please feel free to take which ever will best meet your needs. The communion bread is gluten-free.

PLEASE STAY FOR FELLOWSHIP: After worship you are invited to join us downstairs for refreshments and fellowship. An elevator is located at the end of the hall.

DO YOU HAVE FELLOWSHIP IDEAS? Join the newly forming Fellowship Committee today at 11:15 and help plan upcoming fellowship events.

BIBLE STUDY WEDNESDAY AT NOON. We are studying the book of Acts, the early Church, and the message that the early church proclaimed: calling people to faith and discipleship in Jesus. We will see how the early Church grew, and the boldness in their witness for Jesus. Plan to come! Plan to grow in Christ!

“AMPED” (Active Ministry Producing Energized Disciples) is our Wednesday evening Christian Education program. We begin with supper at 5:45. The main dish this week is ham. Classes for preschool-K, 1st-5th grade, Confirmation, High School, and adults start at 6:30. Please plan to attend.

THE REASON FOR GOD: Wednesday, February 19th at 6:30 pm, the adult group of AMPED will studying the question “How can God be filled with love and wrath at the same time?” This video and discussion study is modeled after Timothy Keller’s book “The Reason for God”. Come join us Wednesdays.

ON TRANSFIGURATION SUNDAY, MARCH 2, WE WILL BURN LAST YEAR’S PALM SUNDAY PALM FRONDS. The palm fronds are burned in preparation for Ash Wednesday, March 5th. There is a short service for the burning of the palm fronds. We will have the burning of the palm fronds at 9:00 a.m. at church on March 2nd. Plan to participate!

“REFRACT THE LIGHT” YOUTH RETREAT: New Beginnings is hosting a youth retreat on Saturday, February 22nd from 10 am until 3 pm for youth in 6th – 12th grades. We will have great activities and devotionals on spreading God’s light and learning about Water Missions International. Lunch is provided and the retreat is free. Invite a friend. Registration forms are in the Narthex.

CARPET REPLACEMENT: The cost of replacing the carpet in the basement activity room is about $5000. It is not a budgeted item so we would like to accumulate the funds as was done with the new windows, by designated contributions. A donation progress board will mark off the contributions in $25 increments and will be displayed in the Narthex. When all 200 squares are marked off, arrangements will be made to have the carpet installed. Please make your donations payable to NBLC and indicate Carpet in the memo line of your checks. So far, $1,975.00 has been donated.

LADIES, ITS NOT TOO LATE TO COME TO CAFÉ CHOCOLAT! OUR FIRST WOMENS RETREAT WAS RESCHEDULED TO SATURDAY MARCH 1ST FROM 8:30-4:30. Café Chocolat: Where Women Delight in God’s Grace, is a great opportunity to get to know other ladies. Snacks, lunch and everything you need for a great experience is provided. So come delight in God’s grace! Registration forms are downstairs or you can register online at http://www.NewBeginningsLutheranChurch.com.

ILLINI FIGHTING HUNGER will hold a food-packing event at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Saint Joseph on Saturday, March 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our goal is to pack 50,000 meals, to be distributed to needy families in the central United States. Please invite friends and come participate. Once you have an idea of how many are coming in your party, please contact Prince of Peace at 217-469-7422 to help us know how many to expect. ATTENDANCE for Sunday, February 9th was 83. General fund offering was $1,684.00. The total Building fund offering was $3,785.00 of which $1,400.00 was designated to the mortgage payment, $1,040.00 was designated to repairs and $1,225.00 was designated to carpet replacement.
