EMPTY TOMB MEGA WORK-A-THON: Looking for a way to volunteer for a good cause? We need 15 people to join our team to build clothes cupboards for children in need on March 2, 2013 at empty tomb. Team members need to register by December 1st. The second purpose of this event is to raise money for empty tomb’s No-Late-Bills Reserve Fund. Judy VandeVeer, our Church Representative, would love to help you register tonight to be a part of the team. You can also contact Judy at 217-832-2185 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Helping Hands Christmas Joy: Make a child happy this Christmas by contributing a toy to children in the Mahomet-Seymour area. Helping Hands needs 125 toys this year and New Beginnings will be responsible for 8 of them. Please pick a tag off the small Christmas tree in the narthex and purchase a $15 toy or gift certificate. Do not wrap the toys, but attach the tag from the tree to your gift. Return the gifts to New Beginnings before noon on December 9th. Your generosity is much appreciated. What a great way for us to begin our holiday shopping!
We are in need of your help! If you have the talent of making bows, we have many wreaths that need your help. The color scheme we would like to use is red, gold, and white. The bows can be big or small since we have several sizes of wreaths. We also need white Christmas lights, trees, glass ball ornaments, ribbons, and candles that are battery or electric powered. Please bring you donations to the basement by Wednesday, November 28th. Please help us decorate for our first Christmas at New Beginnings!
CHRISTMAS DECORATING STARTS Wednesday, November 28th. We will start with a light meal at 6:00 pm followed by a devotional incorporating our Christian traditions of decorating for the Holidays. The children will help decorate the Christmas trees throughout the building. We will continue the decorating on Saturday Dec. 1 at 9:00 a.m. Join us with your vision on how you would like to see our church come alive with the joy of Christmas. If you have any questions, please contact Nichole Jessup email@example.com or 621-2693.
MIDWEEK Advent Services are on Wednesdays, Dec 5th, 12th and 19th. Soup & dessert meals will start at 5:45 with service to follow at 6:30 p.m. Please sign up on the sheet in the fellowship space to bring a soup or dessert to share.
